The Beach Boys sang it, now we must do it. “Got to keep those good vibrations a-happening.”
The thoughts we send out into the universe come right back at us. Think positive.
I travel a little bit from time to time, and everyone is very happy to tell me about my country.
The feedback I get is they are afraid we are slipping from our number one standing in the world. They are not that happy that we are number one, but more afraid that China will soon be the leader.
We are at the top because we believe that our people come first, we’ve always had high standards and ideals.
I think we have lost sight of our goals. People don’t mean as much as profit. Bottom line, our shareholders must make a profit even if it means cutting wages and benefits, and if that doesn’t suit you we’ll move overseas.
I think the tea party is a little off. We are a big nation, number one — we can’t run it on New Zealand’s budget. There is waste and some things should be cut, but let’s not use an ax.
My daughter has six children. What if she decided to run it on the budget of a small family?
Now she pretends to have two children. Every week she buys $100 worth of food instead of the $300 she usually spends; she gets rid of her Suburban and buys a Honda Civic. Only two get to play sports and only two get music lessons.
Get real! She has a big family. We have a big country. We need to deal with it.
Let’s take pride in our number one position and make sure we stay there for the good of all our people.
