ACC athletes excel in their studies

Forty Allen Community College athletes earned Academic All American status during the 2018-19 school year.

Of those athletes, 15 earned first team honors by maintaining a 4.0 grade-point average — six from the baseball team, five who played softball, three women’s soccer players and one from the volleyball squad.

Nine Red Devils were named to the second team for keeping their GPA between 3.80 and 3.99; and 16 were third team All-Americans, for maintaining a GPA between 3.60 and 3.79.

Team GPAs also were recognized. Allen’s softball team held a cumulative 3.48 GPA; baseball’s was 3.43; women’s soccer, 3.38; volleyball, 3.22; and women’s basketball, 3.11.

Individual athletes recognized:

FIRST TEAM (4.0 GPA)

Soccer — Adrianna Gutierrez, Alani Snook and Brittney Wendler.

Volleyball — Brieanna Curry.

Softball — Chelsey Henry, Izabelle Cunningham, Kendra England, Madison Figge and Samantha Greninger.

Baseball — Conner Bond, Dylan Price, James O’Neal, Quinton Weld, Reese Bayliff and Wilson Kafka.

SECOND TEAM (3.8-3.99 GPA)

Baseball — Baxter Mays, Justus Burke, KJ McCrea, Kurth Golubski and Trey Tomlinson.

Softball — Darby Lewis, Madisyn Thompson and Olivia Wilcox.

Volleyball — Keely Goodridge.

THIRD TEAM (3.6-3.79 GPA)

Soccer — Amanda Wray and Ivory Lawless.
