HESSTON — Allen Community College’s soccer teams both started off the season with wins. The men’s team defeated Hesston, 4-1, while the women beat Hesston, 6-2.
For the Red Devil men, Dom Nwagwu scored two goals, with an assist coming from Pedro Ortega. Dylan Orian had a goal assisted by Arch Ryales. Logan Harris scored the final, unassisted goal.
The ACC women had a hat trick off the foot of Rachael Nincehelser. The other three goals came from Lexi Godlove, Savvy Fairall and Hailey Melin. Godlove, Melin, Kristen Tainatongo and Payton Huckabay all had assists.
The men’s and women’s teams will travel to Tonkawa, Okla., Saturday to square off with Northern Oklahoma. The women play at 2 p.m.; the men play at 4.
