ACC softball falls to Highland twice

HIGHLAND — Allen Community College’s softball team had a tough offensive day leading to two losses against Highland Community College Tuesday.
In the first game of the day, Allen fell 6-1. Down 3-0, the Red Devils got on the board in the fourth inning. Baileigh Rager hit a sacrifice fly to score Tristyn Delgado. That’s the only run Allen mustered in either game.
Cheyanne Daniels accounted for both of ACC’s hits in the first game. Rager only gave up six hits in six innings of work, but just as many runs scored.
In game two, Allen lost 8-0. Only three runs were earned by Highland. The Red Devil defense struggled and had five errors in the game. Cassidy Reynolds an Justine Dougan each had two hits, while Erin Pearly had one.
ACC (3-8) plays at home against Brown Mackie at 2 p.m. Friday.
The Red Devils have another doubleheader against Cloud CC Saturday at 1 p.m.
