ACCC soccer teams split

Allen County Community College’s women chalked up a 3-1 soccer win over visiting Dodge City Community College Friday afternoon.
The Red Devil men lost 2-0.
For the Red Devil women, Crystal Jerome took a pass from Whitney Coblentz and scored the first goal. Coblentz found the net on an unassisted goal.
Maurissa Shaffer scored off a pass from Jerome.
Chelsea Reynolds was credited with 10 saves as ACCC goalkeeper.
In the men’s game, Zack Hanks made 10 saves for ACCC.
“We had most of the possession of the ball and had several great opportunities to score,” said Doug Desmarteau, ACCC head soccer coach.
The ACCC women improved to 2-2 in Jayhawk Conference play and 3-3 overall. The ACCC men are 1-1 in conference play and 2-2 overall.
Allen County’s teams go to Coffeyville Tuesday then host Neosho County’s teams Wednesday. The women’s game is at 2 p.m. followed by the men’s at 4 p.m.
