Allen County Community College’s softball team hosted Iowa Central Sunday. The Red Devils won one and lost one.
Lenzie Boring threw a one-hit shutout as ACCC won 1-0 in the first game. Boring walked one batter, gave up a single and struck out two.
The Red Devils produced the winning run in the second inning. Kelsey Walters doubled and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Denise Swanson. Kelci Owens’ sacrifice fly brought in the run.
Walters had a double and a single in the game. Jenna Sigg and Kylie Taylor each had a base hit.
Iowa Central got out to a 6-0 lead through five innings in the second game. Allen County scored three runs in the sixth but lost 7-3.
Alex Hill was the losing pitcher, allowing 14 hits, walking four and striking out one.
Tesla Allison, who had two RBIs, had a double and a single for ACCC. Callie Umholtz hit two singles. Sigg and Walters each had a single.
The ACCC softball team goes to Chanute to play Neosho County Tuesday in Jayhawk Eastern Division action.
