Allen County Community College 5-7 sophomore Rackell Goldson had a 50-point performance spanning two games last week.
That and more earned her the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) Verzion Wireless women’s basketball player of the week award. The Red Devils played Cowley County and NJCAA Division II’s No. 5 Highland Community College last week.
Goldson’s two game week, while in a losing cause, was more impressive than even her stellar numbers may indicate. Not only did she have to carry the load offensively, but she also drew tough defensive assignments for both contests.
Goldson scored her 20 points against Highland in only 18 minutes as she battled foul trouble for most of the evening. In fact, the game was tied with a little over five minutes remaining in the game before she picked up her fifth and final foul.
Goldson had 30 points and 11 rebounds plus three steals against Cowley. She was 4 of 10  from three-point range and 10 of 14 at the free-throw line.
She went 4 of 7 from outside the arc in the Highland game. Goldson had five rebounds and two steals.
Goldson is Allen County’s leading scorer and rebounder.
She is from Orlando, Fla.
