EL DORADO — Despite the loss Monday to their host, Allen County Community College head volleyball coach Jessica Peters was pleased with aspects of the Red Devils’ game.
“There were moments throughout the match we could see what this team really wants to accomplish this season,” Peters said after the 25-19, 25-18, 25-19  loss.
“We were matching up better with our hitters, putting hands on balls and Erika Mack did a great job of hustling to the ball.”
Mack had 11 set assists for Allen County. Nicole Rockhold delivered 10 kills and led the team in digs with 18 and had two service aces.
Andrea Miller downed five kills, made a solo block and had two block assists at the net. Allison Jenicke had four kills, one solo block and one assist block.
Allen County was beset with mistakes in the three-set match. Peters said each time the Red Devils got close to the Grizzlies, errors knocked them back.
Tonight, the Red Devils go to Fort Scott with an 6-8 overall record. They are 1-2 in Jayhawk Eastern Division play.
