MOUND CITY — Only Crest High’s Italy Loving and Erica Holman competed in Thursday’s Jayhawk-Linn High Invitational cross county meet.
Loving captured the ninth-place medal in the varsity race. She ran the 4K distance in 17 minutes, 57 seconds.
Mackenzie Weis of Cass Midway (Mo.) High set a course record in the girls’ race. She ran the distance in 15:16.
Holman took 31st in the junior varsity girls’ race in 25:27.
Marmaton Valley High’s boys were third as a team with 92 points. Wellsville won the varsity title with 50 points.
The placings for the Wildcat boys not reported Friday were: Carlos Gonzales in 34th, Chance Stevenson in 36th and Marcus Miller in 39th.
Seth Cuppy of Marmaton Valley was 25th in the boys’ junior varsity race.
