One week after kicking off the first week of practice last Monday, area basketball teams will get their first taste of live action this week as multiple teams participate in area jamborees.

The rebuilt and retooled Iola Mustangs will make their 2025 debut Tuesday night at the Erie Jamboree. Marmaton Valley and Southern Coffey County High School got their jamborees started Monday at Jayhawk-Linn High School. Results from that four-school contest were not available at press time.

The Iola High School girls will have two pre-season events. They will host a jamboree Monday, Dec. 1, followed by the Gatorade Scrimmage on Tuesday, Dec. 2.
