YATES CENTER — A 26-9 run by visiting Burlington High in the second quarter put things well out of reach Tuesday for Yates Center High’s boys.
The visiting Burlington squad led 17-10 after one quarter and 43-19 at intermission. A 19-13 run in the third period triggered a running clock down the stretch in a 72-42 romp.
Cameron Brown led Yates Center with 18 points, while Austin McNett scored seven and Trevor Chism five.
Korbin Ratzlaff scored 18 points to pace Burlington. Ryan Redding followed with 14 and Braden Meyer scored 12.
Yates Center has one more regular season game, at home Thursday against Jayhawk-Linn, before embarking on the Class 2A Substate Tournament trail next week.
In girls action, Burlington rolled to a 73-22 victory. No other details were available.
