COLONY — The Crest boys came up short versus Northeast-Arma on Tuesday, falling 56-50 on their home court.
The loss moves the Lancers to 1-5 and 0-2 in Three Rivers League play.
“We had some kids step up and get some tough buckets when we needed them but our Achilles heel tonight was turnovers and interior defense,” head coach Travis Hermreck said. “ It is hard to feel too good after a loss, but we did play with a lot more energy and chemistry tonight. It was definitely a step in the right direction”
Northeast grabbed a 12-8 lead after the first quarter and held that four-point lead into halftime.
The Vikings widened the gap in the third quarter, outscoring Crest 18-11 to increase their lead to 11.
The Lancers had a nice fourth quarter, scoring a game-high 21 point while holding Northeast to 16 but it wasn’t enough.
Junior Hayden Hermreck had 21 points followed by nine for senior Hayden Seabolt, three for freshman Jacquez Coleman, three for freshman Kobey Miller and one for senior Caleb Stephens.
Meanwhile, the Crest girls fell 44-32.
The loss moves them to 1-5 and 0-2 in Three Rivers League play.
The Lancers will host Marmaton Valley on Friday.
