UNIONTOWN — Uniontown High’s Lady Eagles raced to an early nine-point lead Friday and never looked back.
Uniontown led visiting Northeast High of Arma 14-5 after one period and 34-13 by halftime of what turned into a 57-24 win.
The Lady Eagles limited Northeast to a staggeringly ice cold 3 of 35 shooting performance on the night, while outrebounding the Vikings 32 to 21.
A 17-8 Uniontown run that spanned the third quarter upped the Eagles’ advantage to 51-21, enough to trigger a running clock in the fourth period.
Breanna Esslinger led Uniontown with 12 points, five rebounds and three assists.
Jessica Choate and Shelby Lehman scored eight points each to pace Northeast.
Uniontown resumes play Monday at Marmaton Valley in a makeup game due to snowy weather earlier this month.
