Erie girls dominate against Humboldt

HUMBOLDT — Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs ran into a very good Erie High Red Devil team in the final round of the Humboldt High Preseason Tournament Friday.
The Red Devils rolled to a 51-13 win and the tournament championship. Erie was up 28-4 by halftime.
Kindahl Young scored six points and had two rebounds for the Lady Cubs. Sheri Middleton collected three rebounds and had two steals for Humboldt.
Michaela Bartlett dished out two assists.
Cleaver tossed in 12 points and McGuire had 11 for Erie. Ten Erie players cored two or more points in the game.
Humboldt (1-4) is idle Tuesday then plays at Burlington next Friday.
There was some encouraging news for the Lady Cubs from the tournament. The Humboldt girls’ junior varsity won its division by winning all three games this week.
