Iola’s football field was already wet and the forecast was for more ran at 4 o’clock and after 6 on Thursday. The forecast was almost spot on as the thunderstorms rolled through Iola about on time.
Iola High made the decision late Thursday morning to cancel the freshman-sophomore football game and postpone the IHS girls’ tennis meet to Sept. 20.
