The Iola softball program is putting in the work to improve this offseason by playing summer league games.
The summer league schedule continued on Wednesday at Riverside Park with a sweep over Independence, by winning 9-7 and 8-2.
The Fillies aren’t keeping stats for their summer games as they focus on just having overall team growth.
The Fillies will be back in action next Wednesday against Chanute with a doubleheader starting at 6 p.m., at Riverside Park.
The following Wednesday, June 28, they play in the Chanute Tournament with Chanute, Fort Scott and Independence.
The Fillies roster is: Madisyn Holloway, Chloe Gardner, Sadrie Overall, Kelsey Morrison, Gabby Richards, Paige Burrough, Kendra Sprague, Gabby Lampe, Kailey Schinstock, Lauryn Holloway, Becca Sprague, Maci Miller and Kelsie Finley.
