WELLSVILLE — Humboldt High will send eight athletes to the 2014 state track meet.

The Cubs and Lady Cubs qualified a combined six entries by placing in the top four at Friday’s Class 3A Regional, hosted by Wellsville High School.

Leading the way was Humboldt’s Bryce Isaac, who took second in the triple jump.

He’ll be joined at Wichita State University’s Cessna Stadium by Ethan Bartlett, who took third in the 400-meter dash; and Andrew Keazer and Haylie Yost, both of whom placed fourth in their respective 800-meter races.

Humboldt also qualified a pair of relay teams. The Cubs’ 4×400-meter relay team of Bartlett, Isaac, Keazer and Justin Meins took third. Meanwhile, Keazer, Bartlett, Joe Kline and Ronny Jarred finished fourth in the 4×800-meter relay.

The state meet is Friday and Saturday.
