MORAN — Visiting Chetopa High, a state softball playoff qualifier in 2012, showed it still has plenty of talent in 2013.
The visiting Hornets rolled to wins of 18-0 and 11-1 over Marmaton Valley High Tuesday, ending the Wildcats’ two-game winning streak.
Kenzie Harrison pitched the first game, allowing three hits and 13 walks with two strikeouts.
“The wind really did a number on her pitches,” Marmaton Valley coach Brenda Mills said.
Tabitha Ford had a double and Ashlynn Pinkerton a single for the Wildcats.
The second game was a bit closer.
Chetopa led just 2-1 going into the third inning.
“Then it went to 4-1 and just grew from there,” Mills said.
MaRyiah Cavender pitched, allowing three hits and six walks with one strikeout.
Kacie Shadden had a double and single for the Wildcats. Ford, Pinkerton and Emily Boyd had singles.
Marmaton Valley will host Oswego Thursday, weather permitting.
