INDEPENDENCE — Iola High’s junior varsity and freshman boys won their races at Thursday’s Independence High Invitational cross country meet.
Iola had three girls run in the junior varsity race.
The Mustangs claimed five individual medals in the junior varsity race.
Josh Klubek won the junior varsity race in 22 minutes, 1 second. Garrett Catron placed fourth in 22:13.
Matthew Cunningham was seventh in 23:01. Jason Tidd took 10th in 23:38 and Drew Smith was 11th in 24:01.
Jordan Dillingham was Iola’s top finisher in the girls’ junior varsity race. She was sixth in 21:40. Chalene Hutton took the 15th-place medal in 25:03. Carrie Mock placed 17th in 25:40.
The freshman boys’ race was a 4K and Jeremy Spears placed fourth in 16:21. Michael Wilson was sixth in 16:45.
Bryan Mueller finished 9th in 17:25 followed by Arion Kunkler in 11th at 18:12, Levi Baker in 12th at 18:38 and Cody Conner in 19th at 21:00.
