Iola High tennis traveled to Chanute on Tuesday and despite not taking a full squad, still took second overall.
The number one doubles team of Bret Plumlee and Elijah Fawson went 3-0 on the day, beating Ottawa 8-5, Fort Scott 8-3 and Chanute 8-4.
No. 1 singles player Jon Miller went 2-1, beating Medlin of Ottawa 8-5 and Santana of Ft. Scott 8-7 before losing to Fredrick of Chanute 8-3.
No. 2 singles player Eason Cheung went 1-2.
Cheung beat NeSmith of Ottawa 8-4 before falling to Self of Fort Scott 8-6 and Andoyo of Chanute 8-2.
The team will travel to Pittsburg later today.
