COFFEYVILLE — The Iola High varsity tennis program wrapped up the final matches of its regular season on Tuesday when it competed in a five-team tournament featuring Chanute, Pittsburg, Parsons and Coffeyville.
Tuesday’s matches were some of the Fillies’ most successful of the year.
Each one of coach Jenn Bycroft’s single and double players picked up at least one victory on the day.
Chyanne Vaughn, who has been Iola’s No. 2 singles player behind Bobbi Sinclair, finished the tournament with a personal best 3-1 record.
Tori Smith and Jennifer Tidd, who represented the Fillies as their No. 1 doubles team, earned their first victory together as doubles partners.
“I was thrilled to watch our whole team get some wins. I would say this was probably the best we’ve played as a whole team,” Bycroft said. “I’m proud of the improvements each girl has made and the hustle they showed.”
The regional tournament kicks off Oct. 9 in Independence.
