COLUMBUS — Iola Middle School’s seventh-grade football team experienced its first loss of the season Thursday.
Columbus scored 18 points in the first half and beat the visiting Ponies 18-6.

Brandon Donnell rushed for 70 yards on 16 carries. Brett Taylor was 3 of 6 for 10 yards passing.
Leading the defensive charge was Donnell with five unassisted tackles and five assisted plus a forced fumble. Gus Hopkins recovered the fumble.
