Iola JV boys drop tourney games

FORT SCOTT — Iola High’s junior varsity boys had a tough day Saturday at a tournament in Fort Scott.
The Mustang JV lost to host Fort Scott 57-19, then to Frontenac 66-40.
“We need to get back in the gym and improve,” Iola JV coach Dan Berg said. “We had a rough go offensively in both games.”
Matt Jacobs led Iola in the loss to Fort Scott with six points, followed by Travis Hermstein and Adam Peterson with four points each. Bryan Mueller and Jesse Zimmerman both scored two points. Kohl Endicott had one point.
Shane Walden’s nine points led the Mustang JV in the Frontenac contest. Endicott and Peterson added seven points each. Hermstein scored six, Jacobs three and Mueller and Fryendz Wallace each with two points.
