Cooper Riley’s summer will include an all-star baseball game this weekend.
Riley, son of Iolans Johnnie and Tiffany Riley, will be at Tiffany Hills Sports Complex Friday and Saturday at the 2013 Mo-Kan USSSA All-State Games.
Riely will be on the 9-and-under all-star team.
Riley was nominated for the event by his coach, John Taylor, based on his performance on the diamond with Iola’s 9-and-under traveling baseball team.
“His effort has been great,” Johnnie Riley said of his son. “He works extremely hard.”
Young Riley also was a star performer for his Gates Corporation team, which won the Iola Recreation Department’s PeeWee League Tournament earlier this month.
