MORAN — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s A-team lost to Crest Middle School 37-30 Thursday.
Both teams scored seven points in the first quarter but Crest shut out Marmaton Valley in the second period while adding 10 points.
Each team tossed in 12 points during the third quarter. Marmaton Valley made a run but the 11-8 scoring edge in the fourth wasn’t enough to catch Crest.
Chance Stevenson scored 16 points for Marmaton Valley. Garrett Booth added seven while Michael Genn, Michael Swift and Nick Trollope had two points each. Trent Johnson added one.
Crest was led by Brock Ellis with 16 points. Austin Green added eight and Clayton Miller had six. Landon Stephens scored four and Chris Brailler had three.
Marmaton Valley won the B-team game 34-18.
Kohl Endicott had 12 for the Wildcats. Coltan Alexander added six followed by Trent Johnson and Mitchell Covey with five each. Austin Pinkerton had four and Michael Genn had two.
Braden McGhee scored 13 points for Crest. Rene Rodriguez had five.
