The Humboldt Lady Cubs look to rebound from a pair of losses while on the road against Eureka Tuesday night.

The HMS A-Team fell 20-12 while the B-Team fell 17-4. They now put their focus on Thursday’s contest against Caney Valley.

“It was a tough night shooting for both squads,” Humboldt coach Mike Miller said. “We didn’t do a good enough job getting back on defense in transition, which led to a lot of easy baskets. We were much better in the second half of the A game, allowing just one point.  Unfortunately, we just couldn’t get anything going offensively.”

In A-Team action, the Lady Cubs were in a 19-4 hole at halftime and could not do enough to overcome Eureka.

Hadlee Allen led the A-Team in scoring with 8 points and tied Zoey Sanchez for the team lead in rebounds with six. Allen also had a team-leading six steals, followed by Quinn Miller and Sanchez with three each.

The B-Team also struggled with a slow start. Lucy Galloway and Brooklyn Watson each had a bucket. Azzy Miller had five rebounds, followed by Galloway with three and Ava Davis with two.
