HUMBOLDT — Visiting Caney Valley took control early and never looked back against Humboldt High’s girls. The Bullpup girls led 23-7 after one period and scored 22 unanswered in the second period en route to an 81-17 win.
“We played well for about a quarter and a half,” Humboldt head coach Jeff Wilkerson said. “But they started struggling in the second quarter. The girls played with effort and they’ve gotten better.”
Whitney Strack scored six points to pace the Lady Cubs, followed by Rachel Crays and Kristin Todd with three each.
Bethany Barlow scored 22 points to lead Caney Valley. Rachel Estes added 14.
Humboldt travels to Yates Center on Friday.
