EUREKA — A pair of blistering starts kept Humboldt High’s volleyball team on the right track.

Humboldt zipped past Cherryvale, 25-9, 25-20, then took care of host Eureka, 25-11, 25-20.

The victories lift Humboldt’s record to 16-9 overall and keep the Lady Cubs perfect in Tri-Valley League action at 6-0.

“The girls played really well tonight,” head coach Stephanie Splechter said. “They were talking and working together as a team. In both matches they came out strong in the first set and made a statement.”
