A cold start did in Crest High’s girls Tuesday.
The Lady Lancers trailed Jayhawk-Linn 14-2 after one quarter in a 45-19 victory.
Crest rebounded and played improved basketball in the second quarter, trailing 24-10 at the break.
But the Jayhawks responded with a 10-3 run to slam shut any hopes for a Crest comeback.
Aubree Holloran led the way with 11 points, five rebounds, four steals, two assists and a block. Haylee Beckmon added seven steals and five rebounds to go with two points. Kayla Hermreck chipped in with six rebounds and two steals.
