ARMA — While it took a while for Crest High’s boys to get their offense in gear, the Lancer defense kept the contest against host Northeast-Arma High’s Vikings in complete control.
The Lancers rolled to a 45-22 win Tuesday to lift Crest’s record to 9-3 on the year.
The win came despite having “a horrible night on offense,” Crest head coach Travis Hermreck said. “We were out of sync all night, but credit Northeast’s defense for some of that.”
Crest led 11-7 after one period and 20-11 at the break. The Lancers took full control with an 11-2 run to push the margin to 31-13 after three quarters.
“We let them hang around a lot longer than we wanted,” Hermreck said.
Jordan Morton scored 18 points, while Kyle Hammond scored 15 to lead Crest.
Chase Cleland’s eight points led the way for Northeast.
Crest returns home Friday — its first home game since Dec. 2, a span of eight weeks — to take on Uniontown High.
