Louk, Endicott medal at Burlington race

Runners from Yates Center and Marmaton Valley posted their benchmark times during Thursday's cross country meet in Burlington.

Emma Louk runs in the varsity race Thursday in Burlington.

Multiple area runners medaled in their first run during Thursday’s Burlington Cross Country Classic at the John Redmond Reservior.

Marmaton Valley freshman Emma Louk received the top finish from Thursday’s meet while completing the course in 23:53. Louk was not the only Wildcats to bring home a medal from Burlington. Freshman Brayden Endicott posted an 19:27 run in his first outing for 13th place

Eighth-grade boys 2-mile: 5. Gauge Murray, Yates Center, 14:04; 6. Jaren Curl, MVHS, 14:04; 8. Case Drake, MVHS, 14:40; 10. Daniel Allee, MVHS, 14:54;

Eighth-grade girls 2-mile: 5. Morgen Crumrine, Yates Center, 15:20; 20. Decembyr Garrett, Yates Center, 21:04.

High school girls 2-mile JV: 2. Evva Sanders, MVHS, 18:03.

High school boys 2-mile JV: 4. Elliot Ard, Yates Center, 13:46; 12. Colin Ard, MVHS, 15:06; 23. Cobin Schultz, Yates Center, 18.15; 25. Isaac Stoll, Yates Center 19:21.

Girls varsity 5K: 8. Emma Louk, MVHS, 23:53; 23. Sophia Heim, MVHS, 28.53.

Boys varsity 5K:13. Brayden Endicott, MVHS, 19:27; 33. Brendon Newman, MVHS, 24:17; 34. Thomas Allee, MVHS 24:46.
