Marmaton Valley girls drop two at Burlingame

BURLINGAME — Marmaton Valley High’s softball team came up on the short end of both games of a doubleheader Thursday, falling 16-1 and 19-2 to host Burlingame.
The Wildcats were limited to three hits in the opener, singles by Jocelyn Miller, Emily Boyd and Kaitlin Ensminger. Ensminger also had an RBI.
Ashlynn Pinkerton pitched, getting a strikeout.
The offense was a bit more productive in the second game. Pinkerton singled twice with an RBI, while Nalea Alexander added a single and RBI. Also collecting hits were Boyd, Shauna Knight and Ensminger.
Jesse Gardner got the starting nod from the mound, with Ensminger relieving.
Marmaton Valley resumes play Monday at home against Uniontow
