Marmaton Valley girls notch win

MORAN — Two teams without a win played each other Tuesday night. Something had to give.

Marmaton Valley High’s Wildcat girls made their way to the win column. In front of a home crowd the Wildcats beat Altoona-Midway High’s Jets 42-29.

The victory came in Three Rivers League play. It put the Wildcats at 1-4 in the TRL and 1-13 overall.

Altoona-Midway slipped to 0-4 in league play and 0-14 overall.

A 17-7 run in the fourth quarter by the Wildcats separated the teams. Marmaton Valley led 25-22 heading into the final eight minutes of play.

Kacie Shadden led the Wildcats with 17 points.

Marmaton Valley travels to Uniontown for a TRL contest on Friday.
