Marmaton Valley Junior High thinclads compete at Northeast Middle School

ARMA — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s track team was buoyed by several top performances at a track meet hosted by Northeast Middle School Thursday.

“I was very proud of the hard work the kids have put in and have made great improvements in times and distances,” head coach Byron Marshall said. “I am hopeful that these gains continue toward the League Meet on May 2.”

Results follow.

Seventh-grade boys

Cooper Scharff — third in the long jump, first in the 400 meters, 100 meters and 200 meters.

4×200 relay — (Brady Burton, Kaden McVey, Brendon Newman and Kameron McClenning) took third.

Tucker Sutton — third in the 800 meters and first in the 3200 meters.

Medley Relay — (Brendon Newman, Kaden McVey, Tucker Sutton and Thomas Allee), second.

Thomas Allee — second in the 3200 meters.

Marmaton Valley’s seventh-grade boys took first overall.

Eighth-grade boys

Tyler Lord — third in the long jump, second in the 100 meters.

Jarrad Jamison — first in the 3200 meters.

Medley Relay — (Tyler Lord, Garrett Morrison, Jarrad Jamison and Todd Stevenson), third.

The eighth-grade boys took third as a team.
