Allen Community College officials named sophomore power-hitter Carson McCormac as its  2026 ACC Male Athlete of the Year following a successful season so far with the Red Devils.

McCormac remains undecided on his next step, after his career with the Red Devils concludes this month, but after leading Allen in multiple hitting categories he continues drawing attention from area colleges and universities.

“Carson is leading the Red Devils right now in home runs and RBIs,” ACC  Director Doug Desmarteau said. “He’s batting .387 with 15 home runs and 55 RBIs. As a freshman, he hit for .351 with seven home runs and 32 RBIs.”

Along with driving in the most runs and home runs, McCormac has a slugging percentage of .796. He also leads the team in doubles, overall extra base hits and slugging.

He also has spent many hours reading to area kids while volunteering at Iola Elementary School.
