BURLINGTON — Iola High’s junior varsity wrestlers concluded their season at the Burlington High Junior Varsity Tournament Saturday.
“These guys had a really good day. They finished the season strong,” said Ron Schomaker, IHS head wrestling coach.
Bryce Misenhelter took first in his weight class, going undefeated.
He pinned Wilson of Fort Scott, beat Herrman of Jayhawk-Linn by disqualification, beat Middien of Spring Hill 12-5, Hadle of Paola 9-2 and Christman of Frontenac 6-0.
Cody Conner was second in his weight class. He pinned Thomas of Paola, Langham of Baldwin and Colvard of Cherryvale. Conner was pinned by Duncan of Spring Hill.
Tristan Sigfusson finished third. He got wins over Buchman of Paola, 15-12, and Swank of Burlington, 15-9. He lost 15-7 to Gazaway of Fort Scott and was pinned by Willis of Jayhawk-Linn.
Chase Roettgen was third in his class. He lost 16-2 to Watson of Topeka-Seaman and 8-0 to Chadwick of Spring Hill. Roettgen pin-ned Lindbloom of Frontenac.
Travis Rieske lost by falls to Yarnell of Erie, Hundiker of Fort Scott and Crookston of Spring Hill.
