The Pioneer League picked a trio of Iola Mustangs for the 2026 baseball All-Pioneer League Team.
Future Fort Scott pitcher/catcher Tre Wilson was Iola’s only first team selection. Coming off a knee injury that held Wilson out of fall and winter sports, the senior made the most of his time on the diamond this season. As Iola’s three-spot hitter, the switch-hitting senior showed his talents in a variety of area’s for Iola this year. He was one of Iola’s leaders in strikeouts and RBIs this year.
After flying under the radar for several seasons, junior Jase Herrmann had a breakout season this year while earning an All-Pioneer League second-team selection. The junior made several starts as Iola’s ace on the mound and was one of the Mustangs’ most reliable hitters, utilizing his power for timely RBIs. Similar to Wilson, Herrmann was among Iola’s leaders in RBIs, strikeouts and wins on the mound.
Junior catcher/pitcher/outfielder Kale Pratt also received All-Pioneer League second team honors. With Wilson’s recuperation limiting his time behind the mound, Pratt more than filled the void. Pratt also made multiple starts on the mound and was often Coach Lake Johnson’s go-to reliever. His abilities as a contact hitter also provided more than a few timely RBIs for Iola this season.
