The Iola Middle School Mustangs continue building momentum after winning three of four games while hosting Osawatomie Tuesday night.
The eighth-grade Mustangs won 37-22 victory, improving their record to 4-1. Cade Curry had a team-leading 11 points, followed by Milo Franklin with nine and Kaiden Jones with six.
The IMS junior varsity also picked up a win after trouncing Osawatomie 30-13. Jayson Dorius scored a team-leading 11 points, followed by Jones with six — all coming from the free-throw line.
In seventh-grade action, the IMS varsity improved to 3-2 after taking their contest 42-13. Greyson Skahan had a team-leading 13 points, followed by Max Ebberts with 10 and Landon Desmarteau with nine.
The seventh-grade junior varsity lost 12-8. Ceison Kidwell, Terrance Perry, Canton Bennett and Ron Ballard each had a bucket.
The Mustangs return to the hardwood Thursday, when they head on the road to face the Burlington Wildcats. The games begin at 1 p.m.
