MORAN — Marmaton Valley High wasn’t much interested in allowing any drama to commence on the softball diamond Thursday.
The Wildcats plated six runs in the first inning against visiting Pleasanton to roll to a 16-1 victory in the first game of their doubleheader.
Then, the Wildcats doubled up that output, scoring 12 runs to kick off Game 2 in a 17-2 romp.
The victories have given the Wildcats their longest winning streak of the season at four games. They stand at 7-5 as they prepare for a twin bill at Southeast-Cherokee on Monday.
The Wildcats spread the wealth profusely in Thursday’s blowouts.
Aly Ard paced the squad with a pair of singles and a double, while Tayven Sutton had three singles. Kendall Scharff notched a single and double, Payton Scharff singled twice, Gracie Yoho legged out a triple, and Zoe Sneed singled.
This was in support of Kayla Ard, who allowed just three hits with eight strikeouts over four innings, while stroking a double at the plate to aid her own cause.
KENDALL Scharff took over pitching duties in the second game, striking out five with two hits and two walks over three innings.
Payton Scharff registered a triple and home home, Aly Ard and Bailey LaRue both had doubles, Sutton, Mary Brown and Kendall Scharff all had singles at the plate.
