MVJH girls lose to JLJH

MOUND CITY — Marmaton Valley Junior High’s girls lost all three games Monday against host Jayhawk-Linn Junior High.

In the A-team contest, the Wildcats mustered just two points in the first half. Down 16-2 at halftime, the Wildcats put in nine points in the second half but lost 26-11.

Mackenzie Tynon led the Wildcats with five points. Kyla Drake scored three followed by Lindsey McNeil with two and Misty Storrer with one point.

The Wildcats lost in overtime 14-10 in the B-team game. It was tied 10-10 at the end of regulation.

Trinitee Gutierrez scored six points. NaLea Alexander and Magie Stevenson each had two points.

In a two-quarter C-team game, Jayhawk-Linn beat Marmaton Valley 10-6. Scoring two points each were Clara Boyd, Gutierrez and Shelby Yoho.
