ERIE — Humboldt sophomore Connor Newman repeated as the Erie Invitational champion Monday, a feat he secured in 2025.

Newman’s score of 73 was one over par and four strokes better than Erie senior Ty Barnhart on his home turf at the Prairie Ridge Golf Course.

Humboldt senior Lane Ellison shot a 103 for 33 over par to finish 23rd. Freshman Rowan Grisier carded a 130 for 58 over par to finish 39th.

Humboldt did not have enough players to register a team score.

The Cubs return to the links April 21 for the Fredonia Invitational.
