Iola Middle School’s Chloe Hageman picked up her second straight runner-up finish this week to begin her golf season.
Hageman carded a 59 to take second Wednesday at the IMS Invitational, hosted by Cedarbrook Golf Course.
Her score put Hageman two strokes behind the girls winner, Sammi Jo Walters of Anderson County.
Two other IMS girls also picked up medals. Addie Prather finished fourth overall at 63, while Mia Aronson finished seventh with a 67.
Derek Bycroft finished two strokes away from a medal with his score of 55 to lead the Pony boys.
Jaxson Wiltse, Jackson Cone and Jeremy Waldman all shot 65, while Gentry Dougherty shot a 68 and Parker Smith a 69.
The golfers continue their frenetic first week today with their third competition in as many days. The Ponies are at Chanute for a dual against Royster Middle School.
