There wasn’t anything the Iola Recreation crew could do. The rain storm came through Iola too late in the afternoon — just before 5 — for them to redo the fields.

League tournament games in the PeeWee and Pigtail leagues have been moved from Monday to tonight. The PeeWee League was just getting its tournament started but because of rain, games will be played on diamond four tonight.
The Pigtail girls have been trying to finish their tournament, which had been scheduled to start early last week. Now, the championship game has been moved to Thursday. Pigtail games are on diamond one.
The only ball field not in use at Riverside Park to-night will be the big one, diamond three. Little League tournament games are on diamond two.
Pixie League girls play on diamond five. Bitty Ball League boys are on diamond six.
The final T-Ball League games from Monday have been moved to Friday.
IOLA AMERICAN Legion plays at home tonight. An updated KABA League tournament bracket had the “play-in” games on Tuesday not Monday and the Register misread it.
The Iola Indians host Cha-nute at 6 o’clock tonight at the Allen County Community College baseball field. The winning team advances to the league bracket. The losing team stays home to prepare for Legion zone tournament play next week at Chanute.
