EMPORIA — Allen County Community College’s cross country runners competed in Saturday’s Emporia State meet.
Travis Kyte led the Red Devil men. As the Devils’ No. 1 runner finished the 8K race in 28 minutes, 50 seconds.
“That is 40 seconds faster than his race in Joplin,” said Christa Baird, ACCC assistant coach.
Kyte placed 144th in a field of over 230 runners. Patrick Johnson took 215th in 32:21.
Patrick Pinault, who improved his time by over a minute, was 225th in 34:12. Seth Browning wasn’t able to finish the race.
Amanda Sharp and Lauren Trout ran for the ACCC women at Emporia. Sharp improved her 5K time by over two minutes. She placed 195th in 25:34.
Trout had to drop out of the race because of dehydration.
Allen County runners go to Johnson County in Overland Park on Oct. 15.
