BIXBY, Okla. — The weather continues to wreak havoc on Allen Community College’s softball schedule.
The Red Devils were scheduled to put in six games over the weekend, but wound up playing only two, due to stormy weather.
The two games the Red Devils played did not go well.
Northern Oklahoma opened Saturday with 9-0 win over ACC, before Eastern, Okla., came from behind to win 11-4 in the second.
The Red Devils are scheduled to travel to Highland for a doubleheader Tuesday before finally making its home debut Friday with two against Brown Mackie.
Northern Oklahoma took control of its 9-0 win with two runs in the first and seven in the second. The Red Devils, conversely, managed only two hits, a one-single in the second by Stormie Bush and a leadoff single by Maecy Charleston in the fifth.
Audra Nelson took the loss with seven hits and one walk in three innings. Kaitlyn Rash pitched a perfect inning of relief with a strikeout.
Allen started quickly in the second game, taking a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the second.
But Eastern Oklahoma responded with single runs in the second and third and a seven-spot in the fourth to take control.
Bailey Ericson, Annie Gentry, Taylor Easum and Charleston each had RBI singles in the second as the Red Devils strung together five hits and a walk. However, Allen left two runners in scoring position in that inning and the bases loaded in two other frames.
Gentry rapped out three base hits, while Easum, Charleston and Erickson each had two. Lauren Poertner had a double and Paige Rothwell a single.
Audra Nelson took the loss, giving up eight hits and three walks in 3 2/3 innings. Melissa Davidson gave up three hits and two walks in 1 1/3 innings.
