Nick Fountain and Curtiss Bunch had back-to-back home runs in an eight-run second inning for Allen County Community College’s Red Devils.
What was to be a nine-inning game Tuesday against visiting Ottawa University’s junior varsity, the Red Devils run-ruled Ottawa in seven innings. Allen County won 22-7.
After the Red Devils produced two runs in the first, they slammed the Braves for eight runs on eight hits.  Micheal Schell delivered  a two-run double to make it four runs in the frame.
Then Fountain cranked out his seventh home run of the year. It was a two-run shot over the right field fence. Bunch followed with a solo shot over the center field fence.
Allen County led 10-2 after two innings. The Red Devils scored five runs in the third, four runs in the fourth and three  more in the sixth inning.
Allen County had 19 hits in the game. Bunch had a home run, a double and a single as he drove in four runs. Eric Seymour was 3-for-4 with a single, a double and a triple.
Bryce Williams was also 3-for-4 at the plate with three base hits. Schell drove in five runs with a double and a single in the game. Fountain also had a single.
Kyle Johnston doubled. Riley Price and Brad Alberts had a single apiece.
Tanner Wittman started for ACCC on the mound. Zak Mickens, Kaleb Hoffman and Alberts each both worked at least an inning for the Red Devils. Allen County pitchers allowed five hits, walked six and hit five batters.
Allen County improved to 11-20 overall. The Red Devils are 4-16 in Jayhawk Eastern Division play. They play at Coffeyville Saturday and Sunday in a conference four-game series.
