The Allen Community College Red Devils fell in the opening round of the NJCAA Plains District Regional Tournament to rival and tournament No. 1 seed, the Neosho Panthers, 2-1 Monday.

Allen’s only goal came off a ricocheted ball off a Neosho Panther player, registering it as a team goal.

The Red Devils could not keep up with the nationally ranked Panthers, who scored a pair of goals late in the second period for the win.

Neosho’s first score came off the foot of sophomore forward Callum Niven following a pass by freshman defender Chris Armitage. At the 75-minute mark, sophomore midfielder Zak El Hannach made it a two-score game after he netted a shot off a pass from freshman forward Bailey Mapletoft.

The Panthers (14-0-3) advance to face No. 2 seed Johnson County Sunday.

Allen ends its season with a 6-8-2 record and 2-5-1 in the Jayhawk Conference.

With only nine of their 27 players expected to return next season, the Red Devils are in for a significant rebuild ahead of the 2026 season.
