Allen Community College was firing on all cylinders Tuesday.
The Red Devils hosted Ottawa University’s JV squad for a doubleheader, and wasted little time in dominating both at the mound and at the plate with wins of 10-0 and 11-0.
“It was a great collective effort all the way around,” Red Devil assistant coach Wyatt Moore said. “We set the tone in the first game and it snowballed from there.”
Jack Bland got things started in the opener, striking out the first three Ottawa batters. He was followed by Elias Muller, Saul Bolivar, Brayden Thompson and Brodie Gleason on the mound.
The quintet allowed just one baserunner, and struck out 12 of the 16 batters they faced.
Meanwhile, the Red Devil batters rapped out 10 hits, led by Colton Ayres’ 3-for-3 performance with a home run, double and four RBIs.
Garrett Rusch also went deep, in both games, while Meese Robberse had a triple, two runs scored and an RBI.
Cale Clark, Parker Martin, Anthony Talpa, Carson Shepherd and Jake Calloway all singled.
The second game was more of the same. Allen scored in every frame, racking up 11 hits in the process.
Rusch had a two-run blast, as did Armando Navarro. Collin Godfrey had three doubles and three RBIs. Tyler Martin also had a double. Parker Martin and Caleb Horsey each singled twice.
Moore described Tuesday’s twin bill as a “get right” opportunity.

“It’s beautiful weather, and we had a chance to throw to a lot of different guys and hit a lot of different guys,” he said. “Hitting is contagious and throwing it over the plate is contagious. When they see other guys doing it, they don’t want to be the one to not do it.”
The victories give Allen (9-5) a seven-game winning streak with a four-game set against Ellsworth in the offing this weekend. Allen hosts doubleheaders at 1 and 3 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
