With only three Jayhawk Conference doubleheaders left until the regional tournament, Allen Community College’s baseball team hopes to get their season back on track — and fast.

The Division II Red Devils’ losing streak extended to 10 games after falling to Division I Butler Community College Tuesday.

With six pitchers on the mound, the 17-2 loss went down as a no-decision. Freshman reliever Jordan Harrison had a team-leading three strikeouts. Sophomore starter Keaton Hartman also had a strikeout, along with freshman Preston Sander, who came on for an inning to close out the contest.

Butler held Allen to just two hits from sophomore second baseman Kaden Wint, who registered Allen’s only RBI of the day, and sophomore shortstop Jeffrey Almonte.

The loss dropped Allen’s record to 14-28 overall, but it will not impact Allen’s conference standings.

The Red Devils jumped back into conference play Thursday, hosting Cowley College for a double-header. First pitch for the opener was scheduled for 1 p.m.

Cowley entered Thursday’s contest third in the conference standings, with a 26-15 overall record and a 16-4 conference record.

Results from Thursday’s contests were not available at press time.

Two double-headers on the road are up next for the Red Devils. On Saturday, they head to Arkansas City, Kan. to face Cowley College yet again.

Next Thursday, they travel to Fort Scott to take on the Greyhounds.
