Sigg Motors wins 14-&-Under tourney

GARNETT — Iola’s Sigg Motors captured the USSSA 14-&-Under Boys League tournament championship Saturday.
Sigg Motors, the regular season league champion, pounded tournament host Garnett 12-5 in Saturday’s title game. The game was tied at 4-4 after an inning and a half.
Sigg Motors scored five runs in the bottom of the second inning. It held Garnett to just one more run through three more innings of play.
Isaiah Grover, Bryce Misenhelter and Drew Faulhaber pitched for Sigg Motors. They gave up 10 hits.
Sigg Motors got two singles and  a double from Derrick Weir, two singles each from Shae Beasley and Trey Wilson. Thealvin Minor doubled. Grover, Brock Peters and Wyatt Hines each had a single.
Sigg Motors edged Garnett 10-9 Friday in the winners bracket. Minor, Misenhelter and Grover pitched.
Faulhaber drove in the winning run, scored by Paul Douglas, with a single in the sixth inning. Faulhaber had two other singles  in the game.
Misenhelter had two singles as did Alex Bauer and Minor. Grover hit a double and Weir and Beasley each had a single.
